Will I receive an email confirming that my FAX has been sent?
Yes.

Will I receive an email confirming that my FAX has failed?
Yes.

What document formats are supported?

Currently the Fax to Email service will accept the following document formats:
1. Microsoft Word Documents (.doc)
2. Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (.xls)
3. Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations (.ppt)
4. Note Pad (.txt) or any Text Editor
5. GIF Images (.gif)
6. TIFF 3 Images (.tif / .tiff)
7. JPEG Images (.jpg / .jpeg)
8. BMP Images (.bmp)
9. PDF Documents (.pdf)
10. HTML Documents (.htm / .html)

The following documents and formats are not supported:
1. Animated GIF Images
2. No Script Files (.vbs / .js)
3. No Audio Files (.au / .mp3 / .wav / .vox)
4. No Video Files (.avi / .mpg / .mov)
5. No Executable Files (.exe / .com / .bat)

We recommend that clients convert unsupported documents into a PDF format.

Do I need special software to be able to receive a fax?
No, all you need is your email client.

Do I need special software to view the fax?
If you use Microsoft Windows 98 or later, you will be able to view the faxes.

I do not use Microsoft Windows, what now?
You should get an image viewer that are able to view TIFF formated images.

What does an incomming FAX look like?
It appears as a normal email, from ....@incomming.vax.co.za. It will also have TIFF attachment.

What happens to my email message (the body) when I send a FAX?
The email message (body) will become the FAX cover sheet.

I do not want a FAX cover sheet, what now?
Do not send your email message, with any information in the body of the email.

To what email address should I send my email to be faxed?
The number is entered as follows: <Country Code><Area Code><Fax Number>@vax.co.za e.g. 27113459000@vax.co.za

What happens to the disclaimer that gets added onto my email message?
The 'Disclaimer' will become your FAX cover sheet.

What information will appear on a delivery receipt?

How big will the TIFF files be per page?
This TIFF files are usually between 20kb and 40kb, depending on the amount of print on the faxed page.

How much does it cost to fax to an 0866 number?
The cost for the sender is R1-90 per minute.

How much does it cost to fax to an 086x number using Email to Fax?
The cost for the sender is R3.00 per minute.

How fast is the fax platform?
Sending to the fax platform is much faster than sending to a normal fax machine.
